James Griggs, 70, is behind bars after he allegedly purported himself as a federal law enforcement official and threatened another person in the 600 block of McLeary Square.
According to the Leesburg Police Department, early on April 4, the agency received reports regarding Griggs, and when officers approached him, he implied that he had a weapon on his person, became combative, and in the process of being taken into custody, Griggs assaulted an officer.
The Leesburg resident was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer, assault on law enforcement, and obstruction of justice with force. He's being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
